The Secretariat has five international staff,, as well as six local staff who are involved with the administration, database maintenance and support activities. In addition, the Seychelles Fishing Authority (SFA) has seconded the services of a Systems Administrator to the Commission.

Secretary: Alejandro Anganuzzi  send an e-mail

Alejandro Anganuzzi has been with the Secretariat since 1998, first as a Deputy Secretary and, since 2004 as the Executive Secretary. His career with tuna fisheries included more than 10 years with the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission in the US, as a scientist, and two years with Indo-Pacific Tuna Programme in Sri Lanka, as a Programme Coordinator.

Dr.David Wilson, the Deputy Secretary / Science Manager, joined the IOTC in February 2011. He has more than 10 years experience in the effective delivery of applied science programs for improved natural resource management outcomes, with a focus on tropical fisheries. Previously he was headof the International Fisheries Section of the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resources Economics and Sciences, within the Australia Government.He was the head of the Australian scientific delegations to the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) and the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC) over a three year period before taking up the role of Deputy Secretary. Dr. Wilsonhas also spent time working on Torres Strait Fisheries management for the Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA), and almost 10 years working overseas in Panama (Research Fellow - Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute), American Samoa (Fisheries Biologist - Department of Marine and Wildlife Resources) and the USA and Turks and Caicos Islands (Associate Professor;SFS–Boston University). Dr. Wilson obtained his Doctorate from James Cook University in 2001, in association with the Australian Institute of Marine Science and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.

Data manager : Miguel HERRERA  send an e-mail

The Data Coordinator, Miguel Herrera, is a Spanish national. He joined the Secretariat in 1999. His duties include the supervision of the data collection activities, including submission of data requests, maintenance of the IOTC databases, preparation of datasets for IOTC meetings or following requests for data, and field supervision of sampling activities.  He is also coordinating activities under the IOTC-OFCF Project, the tuna-RFMO Consolidated List of Authorized Vessels, and other capacity building initiatives in the Indian Ocean. His previous experience in this field consists in the supervision of sampling activities for European purse-seine fleets in the Atlantic Ocean (Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire) for four years and in Seychelles for one and a half years. Earlier in his career he worked for the “Instituto Español de Oceanografía” in Spain and was a scientific observer in Greenland and Mauritanian waters and participated in several European research projects for the collection of fishery statistics in Spain.

Data Analyst/Programmer : Marco GARCIA  send an e-mail
Marco Garcia is the Data Analyst/Programmer is originally from Venezuela, whose previous experience includes ten years in the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC). In IATTC, Marco was in charge of the databases for the Tuna-Dolphin observer programme, developing software for data analysis of by-catch problems, general oceanographic circulation models and GIS applications. He has also developed privately very successful commercial software for connectivity of databases using common protocols.
Tagging assistant: Julien Million  send an e-mail
  Julien Million, Tagging Assistant, is French. He is in charge of helping the Secretariat in the organization of the tuna tagging programme. He is originally an agronomist specialized in fisheries and marine biology. Before joining IOTC he got previous experience working with the EPHE in French Polynesia and HUML in Jamaica.
Gerard Domingue: Compliance Officer send an e-mail
  Gerard Domingue, Compliance Officer, is from the Seychelles.  Amongst his other responsibilities, he is tasked with working closely with the Members and Co-operating non-Contracting Parties of the Commission, to ensure the highest possible level of compliance to conservation and management measures adopted by the IOTC is achieved.  Before joining the IOTC Secretariat, Gerard had worked for the Seychelles Government in the fields of fisheries research and the management of marine living resources.

Administrative Assistant : Rosemary Dodin  send an e-mail
Ms. Rosemary Dodin, Bilingual Secretary, came to IOTC from secretarial functions with the Ministry of Health.
Programe Assistant : Claudia Marie
Mrs. Claudia Marie Joined IOTC in 2006. Before joining IOTC, she worked for Maisons Travels, a major travel agent in Seychelles, as a reservatins agent.
Driver/Receptionist : Chloé Gouffe
Mrs. Chloé Gouffe has the functions of Receptionist and Driver. She worked for fifteen years in the Victoria Post Office and was previously the first Seychelloise taxi driver.
Systems manager: Nishan Sugathadasa envoyer un mèl
  Nishan is a government employee at the Seychelles Fishing Authority (SFA). He has been however, posted at IOTC as systems manager. His duties at IOTC include maintaining this website and the computer systems there. Nishan had been working as Frequency Management Engineer at the Ministry Of Information Technology and Communication for two years prior to his transfer to SFA.

The Data Management Assistant, Ms Lucia Pierre joined the IOTC in 2004. Was previously an employee of The Ministry of Agriculture of Seychelles after completing a degree in Agricultural Economics in UK.
