The First Special Session of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission was held in Rome, Italy on 21, 22 and 24 March 1997. The Commission adopted the scale and scheme of contributions, the Budget and programme of work for 1997/1998, the procedure for the appointment of the Secretary and the Financial Regulations of the Commission. The Commission decided to discuss and approve its Rules of Procedure during its Second regular Session.
