	summary
	The Indian Ocean Tuna Commission held its second session in Mahé, Seychelles, from 22 to 25 September 1997. The Commission completed the adoption of the Rules of Procedure, agreed in principle to the Headquarters Agreement and approved the scale of contributions for 1998. The Commission further selected a Secretary for appointment by the Director-General and fixed the date and place of its Third Session and the meeting of the Scientific Committee. It decided against taking a decision on corrections to the IOTC Agreement at this stage.
