about the wpdcs
the WPDCS has been discontinued
Please note that starting from 2004, the WPDCS is no more a working Party: it is now a sub-committee of the Scientific Committee, and the yearly WPDCS session will now be integrated in the yearly SC session.
objective
The WPDCS was a permanent Working Party dedicated to the task of reviewing the quality of the statistics available from tuna and tuna-like species and to review status of reporting. The Working Party should also identify measures that might be necessary to improve the quality of statistics. Data-related issues pertaining to each of the species under IOTC consideration were also discussed under the proper WP, which reported its conclusions and recommendations to the WPDCS.
